What is Magnolia Bark Extract Honokiol and Magnolol?

Magnolia is an ancient deciduous tree of the Magnolia family, withing a large trunk and thick bark. In China, it mainly cultivated in south Shaanxi, southeast Gansu, southeast Henan, west Hubei, southwest Hunan, Sichuan, northeast Guizhou.

Magnolia is one of the major Chinese medicinal materials in TCM. It has been used as medicine for more than 2,000 years. With bark, root bark, and flower buds as medicine, and it has the functions of vaporizing dampness, relieving pain in temperature, reducing adverse asthma and treating digestive tract diseases.

Magnolol(Cas:528-43-8) is a hydroxylated biphenol compound mainly extracted from the root and bark of Magnolia herb. With a white powder appearance, it soluble in benzene, ether, chloroform, ethanol, but insoluble in water.

Honokiol(Cas:35354-74-6) is a structural isomer of Magnolol, and it has similar properties with the isomer.
